What to look for when buying a Ford Mondeo 2000 - 2007, covering common problems to check for and overall vehicle reliability. Some problems with injectors on the TDCi engines have been Note this carefully: it’s 12,500-mile service intervals for petrol-engine or smaller 1.5-litre TDCi diesel-engine mondeos, or 18,000 miles for the 2.0-litre TDCis. Company car drivers who cover a lot of miles but are looking for the best-value option may still be advised to go for a 2.0-litre TDCI 150 instead of the 1.5-litre TDCi 120, simply
I had a similar problem - system was bled but after a month the problem began again. I had the fuel pipe from the filter to the engine pump renewed [ v expensive as pipe was ÂŁ100 plus] but not had the problem since. I surmise that the seal had deteriorated where the pipe clips onto the outlet of the filter. Now been ok for 5 weeks.

Can anyone help me. I have a Mondeo 2.0 TDCi Auto, about 2 years old that has just started playing up. It has started to just cutting out for no apparent reason. The base is common. Of course, you can find the Duratorq TDCi inscription on the engine cover. The exception is the 1.8 TDCi. It’s a Ford engine. Interestingly, gasoline engines also did not have “pure Ford blood”. The smallest 1.6 Ti-VCT is a design developed jointly with Yamaha, the 2.0 and 2.3 with the Mazda, the 2.5 T is a Volvo I have the following problem with my Mondeo: ONLY and ONLY in 2nd gear when driving at constant speed the car accelerates by itself for 1 or 2 seconds every 3 or 4 seconds. So it is absolutely impossible to drive it with constant speed in the second gear. The car has absolutely no problem in 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th gear.

Answered by David Morley · 29 June 2021. For a start, diesel engines need a specific type of oil which often has a higher detergent content to keep the insides of the engine free of the soot for which diesel engines are notorious. The second thing to consider is what viscosity or grade of oil you need. Most oil manufacturers have a strict

It's meant to close in order to stop air getting into the engine immediately after switching off the engine, then after a few seconds it opens again. Mine however wasn't aligned properly and was sticking closed. Anyway, valve was replaced and so far the car starts every time. Common problem apparently with the 2.0 tdci smax. Hope this helps others

1. Warm engine to 65-70C with at least 1/4 a tank of diesel. 2. Erase codes with engine stopped ignition on engine off. 3. Delete DPF data. Follow on screen instructions carefully. Ignition on engine off 4. Start engine (DO NOT touch the acc. pedal) and start regen. The engine will then rev up to around 2,800 rpm and stay there.
I'm not so much of a cars person, but hey, problem is a problem. So, I've bought 6 months ago Ford Mondeo Estate 2010 120kw/161bhp with 193 000 km on dash. About a month ago, I had troubles to get it started, It starts for a second and then instantly dies. I don't know how many posts I've already read, mainly stating that is a EGR problem.
